THE ATELIER

The experience continues with our couture Atelier.  Our team of expert tailors and seamstresses have decades of experience working for some of the most distinguished brands in the bridal industry.  Our talented seamstress will be with you every step of the way to ensure your dream gown fits you perfectly.

Once your custom dress arrives at Brides by Lola Dré, you’ll receive a message from your consultant that it’s time to book your first fitting appointment.  Depending on the style and the number of alternations needed, you can expect approximately 2 to 3 fittings. We recommend scheduling these appointments 3 to 4 months in advance of your wedding.

Things you need to know

Undergarments. To get the proper fit of your dress, we suggest bringing the undergarments you plan on wearing on your wedding day.  We usually suggest a supportive bra and shapewear.

Fit. To ensure the proper fit, our seamstress will sculpt the dress to your bust, waist and hips.

Dress Hem. In addition to the perfectly sculpted bodice, our seamstress will ensure that the hem is properly adjusted to your specifications and heel height.  It is important to bring the exact pair of shoes you will wear on your wedding day.  If you have not found your shoes yet, please bring shoes that are the height and style that you desire.  We want your dress to be the perfect length on your wedding day.

Bustle. A bustle gathers up the train of your dress so you can dance, eat and enjoy your reception without causing damage to the gown.  There are a few bustle types available which your seamstress will discuss with you during your fitting.  At your final fitting, we will teach you and/or your bridesmaid or family member how to bustle your dress so you can dance and enjoy your special day.

Quality Control and Packing. After your final fitting, you will make arrangements to pick up your dress.  We will thoroughly inspect your dress to ensure no bead, sequin or piece of lace is out of place.  It will then be pressed, steamed and packed in a garment bag ready for you on your wedding day!
